Paul W. Asfahl, President
Sterling Communities, Inc.
San Michele
After having supervised the construction of approximately
6500 new homes in his career, Paul W. Asfahl, president
of Sterling Communities, Inc. knows what it takes to build
a great home. To prove the point, his Boca Raton-based
company has been named to Builder Magazine’s list
of top five building firms for two years in a row, an
enviable and elite position in the building industry.
But according to Asfahl, his formula for success is simple:
“Always treat the customer the way I would like
to be treated,” he explained. “ Do what’s
right by the customer, regardless of cost.”
For the past seven years, Asfahl has been at the helm
at Sterling Communities, supervising a staff of 23 employees.
The firm has built 18 models and 447 homes, including
his three recent models at San Michele, the luxury enclave
of estates in Palm Beach Gardens, which is being developed
with Gordon Homes.
Formerly with K. Hovnanian and Centex Homes, Asfahl is
a member of the National Association of Home Builders
and the American Institute of Industrial Engineers. Asfahl
earned his BS in Engineering from Oklahoma State and his
MBA from Oklahoma City University. He was raised in Enid,
Oklahoma and has lived in Florida and Colorado for the
past 28 years. He and his wife, Mary Ann, are the parents
of two daughters, and recently welcomed their first grandchild,
Alexander Paul. An admirer of President George W. Bush,
Asfahl unwinds with saltwater fishing and boating, trout
fishing in Colorado and snow skiing.
“Buyers today are most impressed with outstanding
architecture and patio/pool designs, as well as master
baths and kitchens,” he noted. “At San Michele,
we’re seeing buyers who like the Palm Beach Gardens
lifestyle, who are especially interested in finding luxury
housing without the expensive country club dues.
“In addition, we are very pleased to add that many
of our buyers have bought from Sterling Communities in
the past. They are repeat customers and providing referrals
to their friends because of our fine reputation in how
we treat our buyers.”
At San Michele, Asfahl personally prefers the Capistrano
model, a two-story six bedroom design which boasts six
full baths, a half bath, library, family room, loft, covered
patio and three-car garage. With 4,826 square feet of
air-conditioned space, the Capistrano is priced from $694,900.
“This floor plan is very livable, and is specifically
designed for families. There is not one thing I would
change if I built it for my own family,” he added.
At San Michele, Sterling Communities has joined forces
with Gordon Homes to offer buyers an enclave of luxury
homes, with amenities chosen to enhance their lifestyle.
In this community, residents enjoy the recently-completed
Venetian Club, with state-of-the-art cardiovascular and
strength training equipment, a social room, swimming center
with lush landscaping and two lighted Har-Tru tennis courts.
Home to only 90 families, San Michele is a walled and
guard-gated neighborhood situated between nature preserves
and lakes. Homes at San Michele feature four-, five- and
six-bedroom homes with one- and two-story designs, priced
from the $600,000s to over $2 million.
The community’s entry is manned 24-hours a day.
Within minutes of San Michele are private and public schools,
The Gardens Mall, restaurants and beaches.
To visit, take I-95 to PGA Boulevard, exit west 1 mile
to Central Boulevard, turn right. San Michele is 2 miles
ahead on the left at the northwest corner of Central Boulevard
and Hood Road.
The sales center is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Six professionally designed models recently premiered
and are now open daily for viewing.
